The Sociotechnical Studio at Ginkgo Bioworks is a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, artists, designers, writers, and producers, who are working to define and amplify the cultural impact of the evolving field of synthetic biology. The Creative Studio helps Ginkgo to design the revolution by caring how the Ginkgo platform is built, thought about, and used.

As a senior designer and special projects lead at Ginkgo Bioworks, I designed and developed the full Ginkgo Sociotechnical Studio site in 2021. The Ginkgo Sociotechnical Studio, responsible for trend-setting and industry leading creative such as Resurrecting the Sublime, Grow Magazine, Ferment TV and more, had never before had a formal presence online. The Ginkgo Sociotechnical Studio site, while minimal, is intended to grow into a robust resource for those looking to learn more about what we do—from journalists, to collaborators, to artists, designer, and members of the larger creative and biotechnology community.
